AVS has a strong history in working in partnership with government and local authorities on many
civil works projects. These have included road, rail and cable tunnels, and sewerage treatment
stations and large pumping plants.
AVS has recently provided key plant and equipment to the Auckland, Victoria Park road tunnel. This 500m tunnel situated on the Auckland motorway system between Newmarket and the Auckland Harbour Bridge now carry’s 150,000 vehicles a day. Motor Vehicle fume removal was a key priority for the project when planned along with dust extraction and general air circulation.
The Waikato Water project was another key infrastructure project that AVS participated in. Auckland’s growing population was overly dependent on the network of dams located around the city. Several years of drought and water restrictions had made it a priority that the city find a constant and reliable source of clean water. This is now pumped from the Waikato River south of Auckland and delivers 37,000 m3of water to the region each day, meeting between eight per cent and 15 per cent of the area’s annual needs. AVS provided fume removal, cooling and ventilation systems for the large pumping stations built for this project.
Lastly, AVS has completed work for several sewerage treatment stations over the years by providing air handling systems including bio filters and scrubbers for odour control , odour filtration as well as general cooling equipment for switch rooms and pumping rooms.
AVS has worked as a key supplier to most of the food and beverage manufacturing projects commissioned in New Zealand in recent years.
