AVS has worked as a key supplier to several heavy industry projects over the last decade. These include large air handling systems for Methanex’s Gas to Gasoline plant, Pacific Steel Group and BHP New Zealand Steel steel mill upgrades.
AVS supplied key air handling systems to Motunui Synthetic Fuels Plant which was the world’s first gas-to gasoline plant located in Taranaki. The Synfuel plant takes natural gas from both the offshore Maui, and the onshore Kapuni, gas fields and converts the combined gas feed first to methanol, and then to synthetic gasoline via the Mobil Methanol-to-gasoline (MTG) process.
Other projects include providing upgrades to the Pacific Steel where extraction of coal dust and fumes removal are critical in the production process and site safety. Pacific Steel Group is a division of Fletcher Building, and New Zealand’s only manufacturer of Wire Rod, Reinforcing Bar and Coil products. They are also the country’s largest metal recycler and convert around 300,000 tonnes of
scrap metal, including old car bodies, into quality steel products

AVS is proud to be actively involved in the community by directly supporting youth cricket in Auckland. We also invest in native forest conservation through our close partnership with the QE2 Trust by re-establishing native forest and fauna on a large conservation estate north of Auckland.
