In those days most industries relied on taking standard off the shelf ventilation and air handling equipment that was not specifically designed for purpose and then applied it to the task at hand. This often led to workable but unsatisfactory results and Martin saw that there was an opportunity in several key industries’ to design and build customised air handling solutions for customers. AVS continued to grow through participation in large infrastructure and industrial projects but the business grew rapidly after 1996 when the NZ dairy industry started to invest heavily in manufacturing capacity and AVS has never looked back.

Today, AVS is New Zealand’s largest designer and manufacturer of customised industrial air handling solutions and has partnered with several of New Zealand’s leading companies in major infrastructure, manufacturing and industrial projects. More recently AVS has partnered in leading international projects and continues to look for new challenges both here in New Zealand and internationally. Our philosophy however, has never wavered from its original course – quality, reliability and honesty above all else. In 2016 AVS Air Systems became the trading name of the company. This was done to recognise the strong brand created with the AVS name and to acknowledge that the company has grown away from its origins as an Auckland based company. AVS now operates globally in the design, manufacturing and installation of large custom airflow equipment.
